Steam Roller - The music of James Taylor

The Hypochondriacs have resurrected from the traditional country crypt, to a fresh and raw take to the standard genre. Though profoundly influenced by early Rockabilly, they are a taste of 60s doo-wop and 70s folk-rock. In the musical sense, yacht rock refers to the highly polished brand of soft rock that emanated from Southern California between 1976 and 1984. The term is meant to suggest the kind of smooth, mellow music that early yuppies likely enjoyed while sipping champagne on their yachts. Significant "yacht rockers" include Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Toto and many more. In 2010, Jack Thorpe, the athlete’s son, filed a lawsuit that demanded the return of his father’s remains for reburial in Thorpe’s tribal homeland in Oklahoma.

Meet Loaf - The Ultimate Tribute

Serene Green’s desire is to honor the traditional side of bluegrass demonstrated by the pioneers of the genre, while also showcasing its original compositions and uniqueness. Since the band’s inception in 2017, Serene Green has played in three countries and in over twenty of the United States, performed at countless festivals and venues alongside many nationally- and internationally-touring acts, and released three studio albums. If your thing is the music of Elton John and his band, then this is the perfect show for you. Greg Ransom plays the Elton John character with aplomb, but most importantly – he has mastered the songs, both vocally and on the piano. His band is top-shelf too, pulling together all the parts of a master’s music and performing it like you want to hear it.

The album begins with the chaos and disorder of what No calls “the Street Level,” where the title track and “Lagunita” reflect the frantic energy of a character, and a country, gone off the rails. If the old saying about talent equaling success were true, then The Steepwater Band would already be a household name, rubbing shoulders with Aerosmith, Bad Company and other like-minded travelers in our collective Rock ‘n Roll Fantasy. But that’s not how things always work, and this band knows it and still leans into it, smiling, with everything in them, not for brass rings and marquees, but because they must! For them, the music life is a calling and not some stupid costume one puts on to shake loose gold, fame, and groupies. In a land of caricatures, it’s striking to come face-to-face with the real thing.

Soulshine - An Allman Brothers Experience

With five Blues Music Piano Awards, Band of the Year, and the coveted BB King Entertainer of the Year Award, Victor Wainwright is at the top of his game on the heels of his newest released album, Memphis Loud. Significant “yacht rockers” include Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Toto and many more. In the later part of the 20th century, outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, and white water rafting gained popularity. With the mountainous setting and the quaint charm of the town, Jim Thorp’s tourism soared.

Peace Frog - Tribute to the Doors

Fortunately, the town didn’t have enough funds to bulldoze many of its dilapidated buildings as it originally planned. Among those are the Mauch Chunk Opera House and the Inn at Jim Thorpe. Since the town’s rebirth, storefronts and homes on Race and Broad Streets have been welcoming visitors with their unique charm and history. It started as a wistful late-night idea nearly 20 years ago while sitting on a front porch stoop. Get the latest updates on upcoming shows, new announcements, and special promotions.

AC/DC once said, “If you got the dollar, we got the song / Just wanna boogie woogie all night long,” and The Steepwater Band surely embodies this lip-smacking urge to get some in this mean old world, befitting the group’s Chicago roots and their earthy understanding of crackling city blues. The journey through the 1960s concludes with an extraordinary note-for-note finale paying homage to the Four Lads from Liverpool, The Beatles! “When we came up with the idea on how to close the show, we posed the question, ‘What if the Beatles had to perform their music today only as the four-piece band they were? For decades, every year in late May, the community came together for Jim Thorpe’s birthday celebration.

These notes include information regarding if the Mauch Chunk Opera House seat view is a limited view, side view, obstructed view or anything else pertinent. For nearly 20 years, the opera house has truly been Hugos’ baby – he gave birth to the idea, fed it, nurtured it, and watched it grow. Last month, the opera house volunteers and the Mauch Chunk Historical Society threw a big surprise retirement for Hugos last month at Memorial Park. 2019 Grammy Nominee and 7X Blues Music Award winner Victor Wainwright is selling out venues throughout North America.

Who can improvise heartfelt solos and stay true to the original, Duane would be proud. Vic has created many viral video characters like Tony Gaga, That Guy, Frankie Pentangelli, Fool by the Pool and Ticked Off Vic. And his Bread and Milk video is like a Christmas Carole that comes back on TV, radio and news outlets every time it snows almost anywhere in the world. The Smiths Tribute NYC features former members of The Sons & Heirs, who built an extensive following through sold-out shows from Tel Aviv to Austin to Los Angeles, with press acclaim from the New York Times, New Yorker and Rolling Stone’s Rob Sheffield. Sam’s original music has been featured in television and theatrical productions around the globe. Sam received his degree in music composition from the prestigious D’Angelo School of Music, and has since worked with music industry greats such as Crosby Stills & Nash, Mitch Ryder, Aimee Mann, and 10,000 Maniacs, to name a few.

The standard sports stadium is set up so that seat number 1 is closer to the preceding section. For example seat 1 in section "5" would be on the aisle next to section "4" and the highest seat number in section "5" would be on the aisle next to section "6". For theaters and amphitheaters (i.e. venues that don't have sections around the entire stage) seat numbers follow a different logic. Instead the lower numbered seats are typically closer to the center of the stage while higher seat numbers are further from the center of the stage. But for Dan Hugos, the founder of JTAMS with business partner Vincent DeGiosio, the company that produces shows at the opera house, it’s the final curtain. After 19 years, he sold his shares of the company to DeGiosio, and has retired.

“I’ve recently been diagnosed with a neurological disease, so maintaining my health has been the number one priority for me. Changing the event may have implications for your customers that already bought tickets. Today his powerful vocals and stage presence breathes new life into the Guess Who hits, staying true to the original sound. THE GUESS WHO ALUMNI features Bill Wallace who wrote some of those famous Guess Who chart busters and his long time friend and band mate Donnie McDougall from The Guess Who glory days and reunion tour. On drums is Mark Santer of Canadian rock band Santers, who subbed for Garry Peterson, and brilliant guitarist Laurie MacKenzie, who was in The Guess Who for eight years. Together it’s an uplifting night of music, harmonies and stories from top musicians who have played in The Guess Who.

“In the early days, we had to tape off seats, so people didn’t sit and get a wet behind after it rained,” Hugos said. As the opera house concerts expanded, Hugos continued to travel from NYC on weekends while managing the business. In 2005, he took the leap and moved to Jim Thorpe full time, keeping things afloat financially by working as a database programmer for PA companies like Air Products, PPL, Carpenter Steel, CompAid,  and DEKA Battery. “I was working full-time, non-stop, 7 days a week, but it was the only way to keep the opera house going,” he said. Late at night, after one of his gallery exhibition receptions, Dan and his neighbor, Vince, whom he hired to play music during the event, sat on the front house steps and pondered why the building was so neglected.
